Make a list (and look at it daily) of your goals for your business!  What do you want to
accomplish this month, 6 months from now, or even this time next year.

Get into a routine.  Do specific things everyday for your business.  Every Monday, I will
do ________, Tuesday I will do _______, and stick with it every week.  Organization in
your business will help you reach your goals even sooner!

I love to carry a colorful bag with me every time I leave the house.  In it contains candle
samples, catalogs, a 16 oz. jar candle, flyers for fundraisers and of course...business cards!
That way I am always prepared to share my business with others.  After I return home, I  
bring the bag inside and "re-stock".  (Occasionally take out a few toys that made their way
into mommy's bag that day!)

Put together a few packages of fundraiser materials along with a letter, catalog and business
card.  Carry them with you.  If you see an organization doing a car wash, garage sale or bake
sell, stop and talk with them.  Leave the packet letting them know how you can help their
organization!

Go into a local gift shop that sells candles and show them what we have to offer!  The benefits
of these gourmet candles may be just what they need for their shop.

Staple some scent samples to your business cards and pass them out to people you run in to
on a daily basis!

Send out Gift Certificates to friends and family! (% off, "save $10.00 off $50.00 purchase", etc.)

Place your business cards in the envelopes when you send out your monthly bills.

Do a fundraiser!


Hang a bag on your car filled with catalogs and information when you go into a store.
Put above the bag, "Free Catalogs".  You'll be amazed how many will be gone when you return
to the car!

What about setting up a stand at a Flea Market, Farmer's Market or doing a local craft event?

Get in the habit of talking to at least 5 people a day about your business!  Whether by
phone, email, converstaion, letter or however you choose - make it a practice!


Talk to your local Realtors.  Offer your exceptional gourmet candles as House Warming Gifts!

Remember, we also have a line of fabulous gourmet body products!  Many people will be
interested in these items!  This is a great alternative for those that suffer from skin irritations!

Do a fundraiser for local Politicians.

Do a fundraiser for a family that has a sick child or a sick family member!  Help them earn
money for medical bills!!

Get in the habit of leaving business cards almost everywhere!



IDEAS TO BUILD YOUR BUSINESS LOCALLY!

1.    Make up sizzle cards, attach a scent sample and hand them out
EVERYWHERE!

 

A sizzle card is something that peaks someone's interest.  You can
use your business card.  You may want to focus mainly on earning a FREE
Candle through our FREE Drawing, or perhaps you want to provide a
discount coupon.  Whatever you choose, make sure there is a scent
sample attached and tell them to put it in their briefcase, desk
drawer, car door, etc and use it as a freshener.  They will
remember you every time they open up that area.    You give them a
free gift, the scent sample and you give them a discount or
opportunity to entry your FREE drawing.  People love to be given
something and will remember you for it.
 
2.    Web Decals

 
Put an advertisement on your car via a Web Decal or Car magnet.
This is a wonderful way for people to learn about what you have to
offer.
 
People LOVE the idea of getting something FREE. 

3.    Vehicle car pockets
 
When you go to a mall or the store you pull out your Vehicle car
pocket and put it on the outside of your window with a suction cup.
You place in the holder a flyer/business card, etc. that someone
might be interested in.  This goes great along side of your Web
Decal or Car Magnet.

 

4.   Lead boxes
 
This is a wonderful new tool the company has provided for us.  
Put these Lead Boxes in small area local businesses.  Set
up table for a couple weeks or month.  Provide simmer pot to the
owner to use while box is there and then give it to them when your
time is up.  If you work full time this is a great option for you.
Use your lunch hour to go to a business and set them up.  Choose
one business a lunch and by the end of the week you could have 5
new Lead Boxes set up.  Let the box and the samples do the work for
you.

 
5.    Contact local area hospitals
 
Every hospital usually gives out new mommies diaper bags.  Ask if
you can put a little Ziploc with a New Mommy coupon and perhaps a
catalog and scent samples (Baby Powder would be a good sample).
Samples of our Wash and  Balm would make good inserts as
well.
 

6.    Local area welcome wagon
 
You can do the same kind of thing for new home owners.  In a bag
include a New Home Owner coupon, scent sample, Wash sample,
Balm sample, etc.

 
7.   Do a search on-line for your County and State Directory
 
You will be surprised at how much opportunity there is for
advertising whether it is free or a small fee.

 
8.   Network groups.

 

Look in your local paper or even on-line for local networking
groups.  These groups give you an opportunity to connect with other
business owners in your local community.
